Chef Michel Bal
was born in Belgium and
is a Master Pastry Chef with over 20 years of
professional experience in the industry. Chef Michel
graduated from the Culinary Pastry Chef School of
Belgium "Piva"
and holds a degree as a Master Confectioner, Executive
Pastry Chef, and Kitchen Chef. He has worked in both
small shops and large retail and wholesale operations in
Europe, and at age 20, Chef Michel opened his own bakery
"Patisserie Bal" in 1987 in his hometown
Aartselaar, Antwerp, Belgium.
His
business rapidly grew into the # 1 Pastry Shop in the
entire
neighborhood. After 7 years, Chef Michel decided to move to
Los Angeles, CA where he currently lives.
In addition, he has demonstrated his pastry artistry at
several food shows.
He
also became a very important member of
Syndicale Unie.
Chef Michel is available to teach baking and pastry
courses to people who'd like to start baking for fun or
professionally. Chef Michel currently holds the position
of Executive Pastry Chef at
Natas
Pastries.
On
June 10, 2005, Michel helped start Natas Pastries with owner Fatima Marques. Michel
started working at Natas Pastries as the Executive
Pastry Chef with several pastry chefs under him, like
Belinda Bal and Gerardo Hernandez, just to name a few.
Chef Michel has received several awards and honors for his work in
Belgium.
Chef Michel and I-Ball Productions are currently working
on a Baking Show to present to the
Food Network
